Cannibalism

ARE CATHOLICS CANNIBALS?
Catholics believe in the real  presence of Christ in the Eucharist.  Sadly the belief is lost in Protestantism.

Jesus told His Disciples unless they "eat of the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, they do not have LIFE in them." (John 6:53-55)
This sure sounds like cannibalism and Disciples were confused because Jesus told them that He  was the true bread from heaven that gives life to the world, and whoever eats this bread would live forever.  Then he said, “And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh” (John 6:51).
This sounded like cannibalism. His  Disciples did not just understand , they rejected what Jesus was saying.
They thought Jesus was "crazy"....How do you labor for the food that endures to eternal life? Believe in me! (John 6:27, 29) “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me [in faith] shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40) “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)
Why did Jesus use bread and wine analogy for His "body and blood?"  For the Disciples it became crystal clear at the Last Supper the night  before He suffered Crucifiction.
1 Corinthians 11
23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for[b] you. Do this in remembrance of me.”[c] 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
I suspect our Lord had more in mind  in the "mystery  of choosing "bread and wine" for His Body and Blood.  Yes....everyone back then knew about  His miracles involving food and were "in it" for the food! Life needs food .....It's called nutrition....energy and physical material.  They did not know the biochemistry of nutrition back then but I have no doubt Jesus did!
In  my humble opinion Jesus choosing bread and wine is proof He is God.
Spiritual nutrition as physical nutrition.....just as eating a plant or animal assimilates their ENERGY, monosaccharides/polysaccaharides, nucleotides/nucleic acids, amino acids/proteins, fatty acids/lipids and minerals etc.  into "our own" monosaccharides/polysaccharides , nucleotides/ nucleic acids, amino acids/proteins, fatty acids/lipids  minerals and ENERGY .....EATING THE FLESH  and DRINKING THE BLOOD OF JESUS...we become Jesus...."YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT"

IF WHAT I SAY IS  TRUE, THEN COMMUNION IS NOT JUST A MEMORIAL (Catholic or Protestant)
Catholics believe consecration by the priest  makes the "bread and wine" spiritual food....spiritual nutrition based on FAITH! BUT...maybe it is MORE.....maybe we assimilate the energy and physical BODY of Jesus into US........this explains Colossians  1:27 ......BOTH spiritual and physical......we become JESUS.....pretty scary which is why this truth doesn't work unless you repent , believe and obey! It sure scares me!
Remember..Jesus said if we had the FAITH the size of a mustard seed we could MOVE MOUNTAINS...sure glad none of us has that power!....far as I know the Disciples were the last to have that power...Thank GOD!
"YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT"  Praise Jesus
